Have to share our favorite part of Little Hearts so far!

Post by Tree House Academy » Thu Sep 03, 2009 11:05 am

This is our first week after dropping back from Beyond and my little fella is LOVING it. So am I. It is such a better fit for him as I am finding things he is struggling with even with Little Hearts...no wonder he had a hard time in Beyond!

Anyway, I just have to give Kudos to whoever came up with the rhyme for this week (Carrie - did you write them all?). He told me today that his favorite thing to do was "waddle like a penguin in Antarctica." And currently, he is in the living room humming the song and dancing all on his own...I am in the school room finishing up with his brother.

We liked that one too! My daughters former Kindergarten teacher said she would love to have the song to teach her class and she has been teaching for 30 years :D

Oh my goodness are you getting away with just doing it once or does he beg you to do it over and over. My kids were relentless. They just loved it. :D So glad you are loving it. We loved it too.

He begs, but I cut him off at one time a day. I am pretty sure he could stomp, waddle, hop, clip-clop, and swing ALL DAY LONG! LOL

I think this is one of my kids favorite rhymes from LHFHG along with the March Around Jericho one.

Anything that lets him both MOVE and ACT SILLY during school without getting in trouble is a win! LOL We will be looking forward to marching around Jericho as well then!

We enjoyed that one too (during our brief trial of LHFHG half-speed with the 4.5 year old, who decided he would rather just do his preK workbooks and tag along with the big siblings in Beyond for now!).

I'm looking forward to doing it again when ds is ready to try LHFHG again (probably early in 2010 after he has turned 5). Our favorite was the kangaroo, since we did Boomerang Express for VBS this summer. Anything having to do with Australia immediately grabs their attention!

Oh MY! Yes, this was definately one of our favorites from Little Hearts. Both my children were hoping, swinging, clip-cloping (etc.) all week....maybe all month as they did it on their own too! :D It is very fun!

Rebecca,

I'm so glad that your little guy is loving LHFHG. My boys ALL joined in on the rhymes from LHFHG last year (with my 6 year old) and loved them to pieces! I must admit that I did write all of the rhymes in LHTH and LHFHG, although it is definitely not my natural talent. I couldn't find any rhymes that matched the stories well enough and had Biblical content, so alas I wrote them. We pray they will bless your family this year. :D

Blessings,
Carrie

Awww...that makes it even better then, Carrie! Knowing another homeschool momma wrote those for my baby to play with and dance to makes them even more fun! :)
