God is using HOD in my sons life

Two things have happened since we started using Preparing and I know it is due to how interwoven God is into the curriculum. First, last night my ds asked to take his bible up to bed. He said he wanted to read more in Genesis and then listed some other things he wanted to read more about. He is a kid that doesn't really like to read so to see him take his bible up and lay in bed reading it was such an incredible thing. The other thing is that there is a kid in our neighborhood that is very difficult. He is very mean and uses inappropriate language. My instinct is to keep my ds away from him. My ds and his other homeschooled christian friend don't like playing with him and have at times responded back to this little boy in a mean way. I talked to my ds about that and how I understand how he didn't want to play with him, but he still needed to show him kindness. My ds thought about this for awhile and then called my dh in and told my dh that he felt like God was telling him he needed to tell this little boy about Jesus. My ds talked to our childrens Pastor yesterday also about this and how he should go about witnessing to this little boy. I know all of this is due to how much the bible is interwoven into the curriculum. My ds said today after his quiet time. "Mom I do feel I am getting closer to God and I know it is because of being homeschooled and learning more about Him".

That is so beautiful!!! Aren't we so blessed that we get to see or children grow spiritually right in front of our eyes:):):) I feel so blessed by your testimony...it gives me encouragement to keep pressing forward:)

Wow, that is wonderful, your heart must be beaming!

What a true joy to see your child begin to truly understand the impact of having God in the center of our lives and then to be compelled to share Him with others. I am so impressed with your son's desire to help another in such a wonderful way.

I know it really is a goal of mine to teach my little ones to think outside of themselves by turning to God and sharing Him with others. Your post is certainly an inspiration!

That is wonderful! I know a family here whose children are the absolute most wonderful witnesses to their friends. Kids really listen to other kids. God is doing a wonderful work in your son's life!

God truly is doing a work in your son's heart. It is what we pray for with our own kiddos too. What a blessing to see the fruit of homeschooling already becoming evident in his life. The Lord is blessing your faithfulness to His call on your life to homeschool.
