Hold back or keep going?

Post by AboveRubiesMama » Fri Aug 28, 2009 5:40 pm

We finally made it home. Yay!! And yes, I have cherished every one of my manuals upon arrival!!! Woohoo!!!

In the end we used this week to catch up.

However, while we were able to work through Week 4's Math, Bible, Reading, and L.A, we fell behind in History and Science.

In other words, we can move on to Week 5 this week, except we're a week behind on History and Science.

What should we do? Should we spend the next week doubling up on history and science? Should we just spend the next week on History and Science? Or should we just skip Week 4's History and Science and move on to Week 5's?

Thanks again for all the thoughts and notes over the past week and a half. We did fairly well, considering that we were out of our environment, off our schedule, and while trying to tend to the family's needs.

I would just allow yourselves to be a week behind in History and Science. Definitely don't skip it - that could get a bit confusing as the reading builds on itself. If you absolutely MUST catch up, you could always do two weeks in one week - extra reading assignments each day until you catch up. It is really just what you feel most comfortable with. I'd love to say that I would just let us be a week behind, but I am so OCD, I would probably devote a Saturday to catching up the week! LOL

If it were me, I would probably just go through the history and science for week and then full on after that. Doubling up can be a LOT of work, I've done it before and wouldn't want to do it again.

You've just been through a pretty tough time emotionally, so I think I'd just read the history and science pages assigned and go on to Week 5 in its entirety. I have trouble being off too, and this would be the quickest fix. :D
