first week of CTC

Post by swymm89 » Fri Aug 21, 2009 12:28 pm

We are finishing our first week in HOD using CTC. It took 2 days for me to figure out that I was doing too much hand holding and that I needed to let my son especially be more independent. Now that we've figured that out, the days are going smoother and quicker. We are not doing DITHOR yet, waiting on the student book to get here. But that wil probably be added in by week 3.

I had initially wondered if this curriculum might be too light, but given that we have been more unschooling than anything the last couple of years, this is actually very intense for my kiddos, but in a good way. They are enjoying it immensly. In fact they are already talking about doing HOD again next year!

Susan,

I'm so glad to hear your kiddos are moving toward more independence and that they're finding their fit within CTC. I'm getting very excited to start CTC with my second son this year, as we really enjoyed the "work-in-progress" version of CTC with extensions for my oldest son last year! :D

We pray that CTC may draw your children ever nearer to their Lord this year!

Blessings,
Carrie
