Preparing poetry question...creative writing portion

Post by MommyInTraining » Wed Jul 29, 2009 12:55 am

Does the student need a separate notebook for the creative writing portion of poetry in Preparing?

Thanks!

You don't have to have this, it's up to you. We have 1 "language arts" notebook that we put work from R&S and poetry. I kind-of wish I'd kept the poetry separate, but oh well. :D I am thinking about copying the RLS poems and putting dd's work behind each one in a binder or folder. She has loved this part so much, and I think she would enjoy having it to look through and show off! I do have a separate notebook for dictation.
dd9 - Preparing with R&S 3 and Singapore 2
ds7 - LHFHG
ds5 - LHFHG
dd1.5 - in charge of hiding all our pencils

Terri,

I agree with Maria that while you can easily put the poetry in the notebook used for grammar assignments (which is what we did last year with Preparing), in looking back I too think that my son would have loved having his poetry separate. So, with my next son, I'm thinking to place the poetry writing in a separate notebook or in a 3-ring binder the next time around. :D

Blessings,
Carrie
