Notebooking/journaling question
Notebooking/journaling question
I was wondering the other day, how do you "preserve" your notebooking/journaling pages once the school year is over? Do you just keep the 3-ring binder with page protectors "as is", or do you have it bound somewhere? I had just assumed I would keep all the 3-ring binders, and then I realized it might be easier to store them if they were spiral bound at the end of the year. So, I was just curious...what do you all do?

Re: Notebooking/journaling question
Last year i saved all my dd's work and then at the end we went through it and kept we wanted, I then put it all in a 3-ring binder with page protectors. This year I'm keeping it all, in an accordian file by subject box, and will bind most of it, either in one large book or seperated by subject area. I say go with what works for you. You can check-out www.notebookingpages.com for ideas.

So far I just have them in binders but I think I my have them bound someday. After 8th grade I will for sure have ds's notebook pages bound but I don't think I will do it before then. Maybe yearly for High School.

Re: Notebooking/journaling question
we kept ours in 3 ring FOLDERS all year long and they are so slim, I am keeping them just as is.
I didn't use protective coverings.

Re: Notebooking/journaling question
Last year, I took all of dd's work and put it into one big 3-inch 3-ring binder. It takes up less space than all the individual binders, and all of 2nd grade is there together. I have a feeling, though, I will start purging after a couple of years.
This year, we are doing a recap of the last unit at the start of a new one, and taking pictures of projects. I plan to do one of those bound photobooks, with each "spread" covering one unit. That way, when I do purge, we'll have pictures of some of the work she did.
