math 3B question...

Post by MOM4BOYS » Sun Jul 12, 2009 11:31 am

Has anyone noticed that the plans in BHFYG do not match the singapore text and workbook? for example the plans say on Unit 32 Text page 92-92 and workbk do pages 130 there arent that many pages... i am very confused with this math, this is the first year that I have had to get this 3A part one part two and 3B part one part two.. why did singapore split this up? do I have the right books? I am in need of help//meghan

Hmmm, the 3B workbook has 152 pages - I've been using the 3A/3B schedule and not had problems (other than 1 page was off). So, I see 3 potential problems...
1. Do you have these exact books...
Singapore Primary Mathematics Textbook 3A
Singapore Primary Mathematics Workbook 3A
Singapore Primary Mathematics Textbook 3B
Singapore Primary Mathematics Workbook 3B

2. Do you have the United States version?

3. Are you using the right HOD schedule for the math books you have? In Bigger Hearts, 2A/2B is scheduled in the daily plans, and 3A/3B is scheduled in the Appendix.

Just think of the Textbook time as your teaching time and the Workbook time as the student's independent work time. Also, the "A" books are typically used together for the first half of the year, and the "B" books are typically used together for the second half of the year. HTH!

Just figured out.. to my dismay, that I had the wrong edition not the US edition, to the books, .. I have used singapore for three years now, and have never noticed the us edition on the top, I wondered wy my third grade books were split up differently than the other grades, but thought that was jsut the grade level change.... i didnt order them through HOD and had gotten them at a resale shop for curric. I was dissapointed that I had to buy it all over again... UGH... well, now I am on the right track! thanks for all your help! THanks esp to HOD for taking my calls and figuring out my problem with the page numbers aligning... meghan
