Geography question about Bigger w/extensions

Post by sted » Tue Jun 09, 2009 10:02 pm

Can someone tell me if the Geography portion of Bigger is 'enough' (I know that's a subjective term) for an older child doing Bigger with Extensions?

Thanks,
Shannon

How old would the child be and how much geography have they already been exposed to before Bigger?

She's 10 and not much "formal" geography. We are doing A Child's Geography Vol. 1 which isn't really alot of mapping.

Thanks,

I have just began BHFHG with my 8 (almost 9) yr old 4th grader. We are also using the extensions. I love the way the geography is done and I was so excited for an excuse to buy a globe :) . BTW, Books a Million has a 12 inch wood globe for $29.99 (excellent deal). We used a map at first, but I think a globe is essential. I think it is going to be a great year and more geography than my dd would have had in 4th grade public school. It seems very thorough and done in a manner to ease the child into becoming familiar with maps and globes. Looking ahead, I know my dd will be very familiar with the globe and have plenty of practice mapping. I feel it is plenty for a 4th or 5th grader even.
