Singapore placement....

Post by LeAnna » Tue Jun 09, 2009 11:58 am

Carrie,

I can't remember what you suggested I do with my kids who finished the Earlybird 2A and 2B. When I had them take the placement test, they placed back into the Earlybird. Some concepts I feel like they understood, others not so much. Especially with my younger, I feel like she didn't get it at all. Do you think I should move on to Primary?

I am ready to move onto and try something else, but don't quite want to give up this year, however I feel like I need a more gentle approach and less abstract. Hmmm. Any suggestions?

Just to remind you, I will have both girls in Beyond... 5.5 and 6.5. :D
Love my husband of 18 years this year;
Love my 3 teenagers--13, 15, and 16. They keep me young, but hanging on for dear life! :lol:
Used HOD in the earliest years with all three of them!

LeAnna,

If your girls have completed Earlybird 2A/2B, I'd move on to 1A/1B as scheduled within Beyond. :D There isn't a placement test for Earlybird 2A/2B, so if you accidentally gave your kiddos the test for 1A you would expect them to fail, as they haven't had that material yet.

The Earlybird K year is more of an exposure year working toward getting kiddos used to mathematical concepts and starting them on the path to thinking more mathematically. There would be few concepts in K that would actually be mastered. :D

Blessings,
Carrie
