he is def. a boy of this generation and loves computer related things. I think he would do well adding that into his day so it's not such a chore. thanks for the suggestions! I can't wait to look at all of them.

irishcookies,

I've read through this thread a couple of times, and I keep coming back to the same options and suggestions that the wise ladies on the thread have already given you. So, I just wanted to welcome you and let you know I fully agree that the ideas that have been shared are what I would recommend as well. :D

I would also lean toward The Reading Lesson for phonics for your little guy. :D Hopefully, you'll feel the Lord's peace when you come to the decision that you feel is right for your family.

Blessings,
Carrie

We have decied to go with Preparing Hearts and Little Hearts. This was our first week. We just made a big move and took an early break and now that we are settled can get back to work. It has been a wonderful first week and we love it! I still want them to do things together so they all stay together (even our younger one) for the Little Hearts time. We will do the art/history activities together for both books as we can. I am going to have to go a different route with our son for phonics. After some testing, he needs more than any regular program for phonics. Having one day "off" to do all the other activities I have wanted to do with them but seem to run out of time is wonderful. It's just another great benefit of this well written and user friendly curriculum!!! Thanks for all the suggestions.

Well, a lot has happened - I'm so glad you've settled nicely after your move, and I love hearing you've had such a nice first week with LHFHG and PHFHG! :D I like to start my first time teaching a new HOD guide half-speed if we have the time. I think it's a great way to learn how it will go and see the order you enjoy teaching each box in. The day off is wonderful, isn't it? I enjoy that time as well. You will have such a great year teaching PHFHG and LHFHG! That is what we did last year, and we completely enjoyed our year. Here's to another happy week homeschooling! :D

The funniest part is that I think my 9 yr. old dh loves the Little Hearts rhymes, songs and fun even more than my ds! She really gets into it and begs for repeats! I am so thankful for her enthusiasm. She gets all of us excited about the lessons for the day.

My 9 yo son is the same way! He could have been in the middle of anything and still wanted to get up and do the LHFHG rhymes with us. I'm a softy and usually let him join in the fun. What a happy way to spend our days together - I'm so glad for you and your dc too! :D

irishcookies,

I'm so glad to hear that you've received your curriculum, have moved already, and jumped right in! Wow! :D

It was wonderful to hear about your great first week, and I especially enjoyed hearing about your kiddos' enthusiasm! :D

We did PHFHG and LHFHG last year, and we pray you'll enjoy them both as much as we did!

Blessings,
Carrie
