I am curious why I see so many people talking about other english and grammer programs on this board. Do we need to suppliment with another program?

No, Rod & Staff Grammar is definitely not a program you need to supplement with! It is very thorough.

Nicky,
Beginning in Bigger, you will use a grammar text. Carrie suggests Rod and Staff, but you can use another program if you like. There is also a decision about what level you would need since the guides are written to cover a span of ages. Grammar needs to be at a specific skill level for each child. I think you decided on Beyond, which has the grammar lessons built into the guide. So no need for a separate grammar text this year! Yeah! By the way, the grammar in Beyond is only one day a week. It is very gentle, yet meaningful. I think you will really enjoy the gentle, engaging, yet very full programs that Carrie has written.

ps. Sheesh! I need to let other people "talk" to you once in a while!

There are many grammar options, and Carrie writes the guides so you may choose what you want, which is why it comes up on the board. HOD's grammar recommendation is R & S, and we've been thrilled with it! :D It is a solid, God-honoring program.
