Writing Instruction

Post by Patience » Fri May 22, 2009 9:21 pm

I'll be using Bigger with my two olders (9 & 7). My 9 year old girl is well suited for Preparing, so I'll most likely be purchasing it for dictation. I had hoped to have some plan for her for writing instruction, especially creative writing. Should I try to create a plan for her for a once a week writing assignment? Or should I just wait until the following year when she'll be in fifth grade?
Wife of 10 wonderful years
Mom to three
9 yo girl and 7 yo boy doing BIGGER
3yo girl listening in to all our reading

Patience,

If you desired, you could easily use the poetry of Robert Louis Stevension as scheduled in Preparing Hearts for your daughter and the creative writing lessons that go alon with it. Or, you could even just use the creative writing lessons scheduled on Day 2 of the poetry box of Preparing Hearts each week and save the rest of the poetry activities for the following year. This would be an easy way to have creative writing once a week with a guide you're already purchasing that would suit your daughter well. :D

Blessings,
Carrie
