Home Sweet Home

Post by Mom2Monkeys » Thu Apr 30, 2009 10:31 am

I'm finally back from a long trip and just wanted to say hello!
I know many of you had been praying for all the things we had going on with a trip, move, pregnancy....so I'll give a quick update.

Trip to Florida- Went well...it was a long drive there and back with a few kinks, but overall okay. Great to see all my family! Sister in the Air Force that was there from Japan is going down hill...I really thought the AF would do her some good, but she's trouble and mean. She was very rude to my kids and even made my strong-hearted one cry. She actually said some very awful things to me on our drive home, threatened to call CPS on me and get the kids taken away, then pulled out my hair, left claw marks on me, and a few bruises...my mom actually joined in on this while she was DRIVING and also made some threats of her own. I feel bad, but I physically defended myself as well as I could from the front seat and accidentally blacked my moms eye when she had her hands around my neck. Due to threats they made and how they would affect the kids, we've decided they are not allowed around the kids. They are NOT Christians (claim to be b/c they believe there is a God-- so does the devil though, ya' know!?) and part of their problem with me is that I am a Christian- they see my rocky past as making me a hypocrite instead of a changed heart. I wasn't raised by my mom or around my sisters much...I'm so thankful for my dad at times like these! Anyway...off to good news...

Our move-- DH got us moved and a little unpacked while the kids and I were gone. We've come home to our new home and I just love it! My ds2 doesn't want to sleep in his bed and just keeps saying he wants to go home :( Poor little guy. We've seen DH for a few hours in the last 2 weeks and it will be two move before he's home. His finals are coming up but looks like his grades are up good so he's not as stressed! He's doing awesome for keeping up with the move and school all at once!

Pregnancy-- I have MORNING SICKNESS!! That's a praise! LOL. With the miscarriages I've had, I never had symptoms. Now, I have all day sickness. I'm growing out of my pants too. LOL. I'm also past the week of my longest pregnancy that m/c. I'm going to be 9weeks on Sunday.

We'll be jumping back into school asap once we get settled. I want some time off when the baby comes so we'll school through the summer I think. So glad to be back!!!

I'm glad your pregnancy is going well, and that you like your house.

As for your sister/mom, I'm thinking it might be wise to stay away from them. And certainly don't let them near your children. That's horrible the way they treated you!

Isn't it great how Satan likes to never let us forget our pasts? Ugh. Families can be great and building us up and equally great at tearing us down. Praise God you are no longer the person you were. I am so thankful I am not the same person I was 8 years ago. I am sorry your mom and sister treated you so harshly. I too have had some very negative encounters with my family (mostly my dad) and I remember someone telling me that as a Christian we must forgive them for what they say and do but that does not mean we have to be in a relationship with them either. Forgiveness is for us, not them. They don't realize they are sinning. But you must protect yourself and your family. You are a child of the Most High God. I tell people all the time, I had to lose the relationship with my dad on earth to realize my total dependence on my relationship with my Heavenly Dad. (Now my dad and I are able to talk in civil tones...but it was a long time before that happened, that and it helps that he lives 4,000 miles away) I'll pray about that whole situation.

On the positive side- glad you like the new house. Your little guy will come around. Change is hard. And equally glad that your pregnancy is progressing so well. Praise God. Praying continued protection for your unborn baby.

So sorry to hear about your family, that is just awful to have to deal with. I am praying for God's peace to envelop you and help you to heal from the experience.

Meanwhile I'm glad to see you are doing well with your pregnancy. I have morning sickness too, I'm constantly eating to keep it at bay. They said at my ultrasound this week that morning sickness is a really good sign that your baby is doing well. I'm praying that's true for you.

Take care of yourself and rest in the arms of our Savior.

I'm jealous that you already had an ultrasound! I haven't even found my doctor yet since we just moved here. I'm so anxious to see the little heart beat...I want to wait till DH can be there though so it's going to be at least another week or two. It's so fun that we have the same due date! We'll have to compare ultrasounds, morning sickness fixes, and guess who's gonna hatch first. LOL

Reading back at my original post, I'm a little embarrassed about the details of my dysfunctional family...I think the pg hormones made me a little emotional and in a sharing mood when I posted. I'm just so upset about where they are all headed in their lives! I haven't lived with my mom since I was 10 so I don't even feel like they are family...if I had been raised by her, I don't think I'd share that much to avoid being associated with all that mess! I'm familiar with the fact the Bible says that our faith in God can separate families. I think that's what's going on here. I saw an "offical business" government car today and my heart sank thinking they called Child Protective Services on me when it stopped in front of my house...those rotten census people. LOL.
