Anyone know of change to Earlybird Mathematics?

Post by icukirt » Tue Apr 28, 2009 2:49 pm

I was just on the Singapore Math site and see that Kindergarten has some changes. How will this effect using Earlybird for HOD? This is what the web site says?

SingaporeMath.com Inc is pleased to present: Earlybird Kindergarten Mathematics Standards Edition

Earlybird U.S. Edition will not be available after May 31 2008. This series has been replaced by Earlybird Standards Edition.

Schools who need to continue with Earlybird U.S. Edition - please contact us at school@singaporemath.com.

HOD is aware of this change and is currently updating their LHFHG guide to accomodate this. I believe they said it should be ready this summer. I also believe I remember them saying that they have enough in stock of the current edition of Earlybirdt to get through September! HTH

Do you know if the LHFHG will be totally rewritten or will there just be updates/replacements on the web site?

I think they plan on republishing the entire manual as they have also updated some of the read aloud sections. Maybe Julie or Carrie can pop in here and give you more specifics.

Kay,

We won't be redoing LHFHG until absolutely necessary, so the guide will most likely be revised for math sometime between September and December of this year. :D We do have enough stock of Earlybird Math to cover our guides.

When the new version of LHFHG comes out it will have updated math plans to correspond with either the new standards version of K math or another K program Singapore offers in math instead. We are still deciding between the two. :D

We will also write the replacement schedule for Jerry Muskrat into the guide, since Uncle Wiggly is out of print. The schedules for both Bibles (Family-Time and 101 Favorite Bible stories) will also be within the history box, and the updated schedule for History Stories for Children will be within the guide itself.

Last, we are waiting to see what will happen with the Getty-Dubay Italic Series, as the press who previously published it is closing their doors. They are seeking a publisher for the Italic series, so we'll see what happens there.

That should be all the changes/updates to LHFGH. Right now the replacement schedules for all needed books come included with the LHFHG guide, so the guide is fully functioning as is. :D

Blessings,
Carrie
