I've read somewhere here that it is not recomended to use the same level two years in a row (with a different child). Can someone explain what the disadvantages would be?
Thanks so much,
Shannon

Re: Using same program two years in a row?
I think it's just so you don't get burned out on teaching the same stuff that soon again. I think that some probably do use the same program two years in a row because it just works better for good placement, but you need to weigh the pros and cons for each of your options and figure out what will work best for your family.
Re: Using same program two years in a row?
Shannon - I think correct placement is first and foremost important, but when wavering between 2 good options, it's nice to consider having a year off between teaching programs. Of course, I taught LHTH 3+ years in a row when teaching it to our Coffee Break Bible study group's children, and then to my ds, and I still enjoyed it greatly. In the day to day of homeschooling though, I've enjoyed having a year between revisiting a program just to fully appreciate its joys once again in a new way. If I had 2 dc that placed in programs back to back, I'd place them there though, or combine them for the core, left side of the plans.
