Due in two weeks and was hoping to do more school, but....

Post by yayadaisy » Thu Mar 26, 2009 3:42 pm

Hey ladies- I am due in two weeks to have our sixth baby! I can not wait. We do not know what it is so I am very much looking forward to the big day. I will be induced on April 9th! But I was planning on doing school until that day. At this point though we now have a stomach bug going through our house. I am praying it doesn't go through everyone and me. I know if I got it it could make me go into to labor early and we don't want that! Anyways I am just so tired and sore and now with a sick kid I don't think I will be able to school until the 9th. So now I am freaking out because we got a late start to begin with and I was planning on taking two weeks off after baby came, but if we stop now we will be even further behind UGG!! I was not planning on schooling through the summer other than reading and some math. I am not sure what to do here. Should we just stop where we are at the end of May and start up again in mid-August and finish the program (we are doing Beyond) or just let it go and start with what I have for next year. I will not be able to do HOD with my older two next year, but have Sonlight. It was givien to me and we don't have the money right now to buy anything so that is what we will use. But I will be doing two HOD programs with my other kids, LHTH and LHFHG!! :D I already have them. That is one nice thing. Once you buy it you have it for the next one down the line. What are your thoughts. Have any of you used Sonlight before? Will it be to hard of an adjustment for them if we finish beyond and then start Sonlight sometime in late October or early November? Or because Sonlight is a different program to begin with would it be a big deal to not finish beyond and start with Sonlight? I will probably get HOD for them the next year when I save up the money. I just love HOD!!! Oh so many things to think about right now. I am a planner and it drives me crazy not have things planned out! Being pregnant only makes it worse. I have the nesting thing really bad right now and feel like I have to have everything done and figured out before baby comes. Maybe it's just the hormones LOL!!

Thanks ladies

Sheila mom to five great kids, one angel and one on the way!

I would definately finish the HOD, when you decide to do that--now, summer, next fall---all the choices would work. I more just posted to say that I am due in three weeks with baby number 8 (baby identity unknown also). I am also sore and tired if you would like company. We are going to keep going until the baby comes, take a week off, and I should be done with my littles by mid-to-end June (depending on if there are a couple of really bad days before the baby or if I need more than a week after the baby). My two high schoolers will have to continue some subjects in the summer, but they are doing well finishing up others. I can't wait to hear about your beautiful new baby!

I can't be much help with your question. I just wanted to pop in too and say we are in the same spot. Our baby girl is almost 4 weeks old, but we spent a week and a half either in the hospital or traveling back and forth to Dr. appts. for her...so now we are further behind than I planned...we were already behind where I wanted us to be. I've just been trying to get her on a good schedule and focusing on spending some time with her, but we did start back up with our schooling this week. I'm trying to play 'catch-up' in Bigger...mostly because we have to send in reports to the district every quarter. If I felt like I had the freedom, I would just pick up where I left off and work until we complete the manual...even if that meant we would not finish until a few weeks into the fall. That would be my suggestion for you if you are able to do that. And maybe your situation will change by then that you'll be able to get the next HOD manual for your older kids too. Good luck figuring this out. I'm sure you will get some great suggestions here! :)

Sheila congratulations! You will love having six! I would say yes definitely the hormones are kicking in if you are thinking of using anything other than HOD. I would stick with what has been great and just keep going. The baby will add enough to the mix. Why stir things up more now. Just enjoy your little babe. That would be my advice. Happy end of the pregnancy. I have a little one that was born real close to your date. Please remind us before you go in so we can pray for you!

First off, breathe. :D No use all your worrying throwing you into labor either! I'd finish the program whenever you are able. If that means doing more of it during the summer that's not a bad idea. Besides, beyond isn't that long that it take the WHOLE day. If you did it first thing you'd still have the rest of the day to swim, play outside, etc. I am so sorry you don't have the money for the next HOD program for your eldest. I don't know anything about Sonlight from personal use so I am afraid I can't help you there. Can't wait to find out what you are having!!!!! Yeah!
