I should be on the payroll here! LOL
I should be on the payroll here! LOL
I have about 25 homeschool girlfriends in my area that we do a lot of stuff with. All of our children are around the same age (baby to 3rd graders) and we all do field trips, special events (I do a Happy Birthday Jesus Party at my house that is CRAZY with that many children...we love it!) and we even do a monthly bible/book study at my home, right now we are studying Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit by Teri Maxwell.
Anyways...my point...many of these women have heard me RAVE about HOD and just this week alone I have had 7 of them speak to me individually and are planning on switching over to HOD for the fall!!! How cool is that~!
Someone just today said in jest "Are you sure you're not getting paid for promoting this!" LOL You know, when it's something you so strongly believe in you can't help but shout it from the rooftops!!!

Re: I should be on the payroll here! LOL
I'm thinking the same thing here! LOL
There is one already HOD convert in my homeschool group, with many more that have invited me over to bring my books for them to look at as well. I know at least two more that are ready to switch for sure, and several more considering it. They said my constant enthusiasm about it has sparked their interest and they can't help but want to use it too! LOL. I really can't help myself at every meeting...I just have to share HOD with everyone! Not to mention every where I go when someone mentions homeschool. LOL

Re: I should be on the payroll here! LOL
That is great! The more they sell the more they can write. I want them to sell a ton so my kids can do HOD for life! So thank you very much for spreading the word. I know we all appreciate it! I for one appreciate it. I don't know what I would do without HOD. I hope everyone that loves it makes sure to tell people about it. I know in my state many people do not even know about it. I know that is because HOD family lives by their convictions and put their family first and chooses not to run all over the US selling it. So we need to be their voice sometimes and tell people in areas they can't get to. The more people sell it for them the more blessed they can be in their business and the more they can write. So please keep telling people! I don't ever want to have to teach my kids without HOD!
And I know everyone wants the people behind HOD to be blessed because they bless us every day.
Great job! Maybe you will get all 25 families eventually!

Yup, I brought two along with me last year. It could be countless millions of onliners that have joined due to my big mouth! Who knows?

I haven't offically begun using HOD but have recommended HOD to many people who love it and plan to use it forever (as long as Carrie writes books). We will start Bigger either June or July (we homeschool year round).
Blessings,

Re: I should be on the payroll here! LOL
I also have persuaded a mom to try HOD next year for her pre-schooler and maybe after she sees how wonderful it is she switch all her kids.
Another funny thing has happened, one of my best friends, who uses another curriculum, has encouraged someone she knows to consider HOD (this lady has never HS'd but is considering it) and has put her in contact with me! I thought it was funny that she recommended HOD and not the program she uses.
But then again she hears me raving about it and sees how easy it is for me to use, even while I hold down an outside job.

Re: I should be on the payroll here! LOL
I know what you mean. I am running out of catalogs to give people and I was just thinking maybe I should call up and order some more along with a book I need LOL. I love HOD. I just blogged about next years plans and plugged HOD again. I think I will try to give a review soon too. I need to try to generate more traffic to the web site.

This is all so encouraging to hear, ladies! What a blessing you all are!!!
Water2wine really hit the nail on the head here...

It must be tempting sometimes to do exactly that - put homeschooling their own dc on the back burner - and travel all over to let HOD flourish. But, that would not be putting their family first, and that is a primary goal God has given all of us. I consider each and every one of you a voice for HOD - in fact, I consider it a ministry. At least the way I look at it, when I tell others about HOD, or help ladies on the board with HOD, or visit other forums and talk about HOD - those are all ways to help get the Lord into homes. HOD has such a focus on keeping God front and center in homeschooling, that when HOD is brought into homeschool families' homes - God is brought in as well.
In the past, I sometimes felt that because of homeschooling, I was very limited in the way I could be involved in God's work. Being involved in extracurricular groups often takes time and also sometimes money I just don't have, and I used to feel very sad that maybe I was not doing enough for God outside of my home. Now, I don't feel that way at all. AND, you shouldn't either!!! We are all a part of God's work here. Every time we help someone who needs it on this board, every time we share what God is doing in our homes through the use of HOD, and every time we pray for one another - we are doing God's work! Anyway, I want to encourage you to all feel like you are truly a part of a special work for God here. I can feel Him at work here, and you are all a BIG part of it! THANKS!
In Christ,
Julie

Each and every one of you ladies are such a blessing to HOD!
We pray often for the Lord to bring those to Heart of Dakota who are in need of our programs and those who would be blessed by what we have to offer. So, each of you are an answer to prayer for us.
We consider it a privilege to serve you and are so encouraged that you think enough of our program to share it with others!
Blessings,
Carrie
