OT- Homeschooling Family

Post by funkmomma71 » Tue Mar 17, 2009 3:01 am

For anyone who may interested, a local homeschooling family will be featured May10th on Extreme Home Makeover! How do I know? Well they live about 10 mins from my home here in Las Vegas and today we will be outside for the reveal with a bunch of other HS families, yelling "Move that bus!" My dd is super excited to be able to be there, she absolutely loves watching this show.

Oh what fun! We love watching the show, but don't get to see it very often. I hope I will be able to catch this one when the show airs.

Have fun!!!!

That's so cool! I will mark my calendar as we are not consistent with watching it. My kids do love it though! I'm always so curious about how these homes look after the makeover - they can't really fit in with the neighborhood? And I've heard that quite a few families have lost those homes because they couldn't keep up with the taxes on the new value. On the other hand, what a tremendous blessing that show has been for so many families!

March 29 we'll be watching because a product that my husband's company makes (gel floor mats) will be featured.

We went today and screamed ourselves hoarse! Our whole family was able to go so it was an awesome experience. It is unfortunate that some families aren't able to pay taxes and bills on some of these homes, but overall I think they are doing a wonderful service. We use the show as leaping off point for family discussions about giving, perserverance and God's provision. Thankfully, this family is part of a LARGE homeschool group that strives to meet the needs of those in the group. So hopefully paying the bills will not be an issue for them.
