Singapore???

Post by 2smiles » Sat Mar 14, 2009 12:01 pm

My 6yr old dd will be using Bigger next year, we have used BJU for K and 1st. We will continue to use BJU English and writing, but are switching to Carrie's recommendations for everything else. Dd has excelled in BJU math so far, she missed only one problem on the Singapore 1A test (she was in a hurry), but the 1B test covers things she hasn't learned yet. I want to do 1B with her this summer, so we can start with 2A in the fall. Is 1b covered at all in the Bigger TM or should I go ahead and get the Beyond TM? (I'll need it anyway in a couple of years for my younger dd) I've looked at singapore before and wouldn't even consider it w/o Carrie's extra hands on help.

We are using LHTH with my 4yr dd and LOVE it! I was not sure she would EVER be excited about school, now SHE brings ME her books every day! I can't wait to start LHFHG with her next year...and it's all I can do to not hurry through BJU this year, to get started with my older in Beyond. We have enjoyed BJU and never thought of switching, until we found HOD!

Thanks for your advice...I've been "lurking" on this board for a while, and think you ladies are great and full of wisdom! You have answered most of my questions before I've had a chance to ask them! :P

The activitites for 1A/1B are in the Beyond Manual. The activities for 2A/2B are in the Bigger manual.

Beyond has an alternative schedule for 2a and 2B as an appendices, so you can see what pages to cover, but no activities.

To simplify... Yes, you should purchase the Beyond manual if you want the hands on activities to go along with Singapore 1B.

and WELCOME!! :D

2smiles,

We're glad to have you here! :D It's so true that the ladies on the board answer the questions as fast as moms can ask them! They are a wealth of information!

Blessings,
Carrie
