How much time together and independent??

Post by Lisu » Mon Mar 09, 2009 12:22 pm

I have posted previously and recv'd great and helpful responses. I am back again with more questions.

Last time I asked about my 9 and 10 yo children that I plan to do Preparing... I am now wondering how much time is spent each day that requires me with them and then how much indepdent time? I understand there is probably no set in stone answer. I would just like an estimation.

Then also how do you schedule your day when you have other children to educate as well? We have 3 other children that I must educate and care for. I know others do it with a lot more children than what I have.

As I shared in my first thread, I am coming from a textbook approach and it doesn't requie lots of 1 on 1 time from me. I go from child to child and help but big chunks of time usually aren't required of me (for the most part)

Do you all have schedules you can share on your day works with more than 3 children that you are educating?

Thanks a bunch!

Total time for PHFHG (once you are in the swing of it) is around 4 to 4 1/2 hours. Approximately 1/3 of that time is spent with you, 1/3 is semi-independent where you give the initial directions and then they go to work alone, and 1/3 is completely independent. You are already prepared to teach Preparing because this is EXACTLY what I am doing with PHFHG :D :D :D :

Have I got a great past thread for you to read!!! I personally LOVE this thread. I always take something useful from looking at other people's schedules. You can take bits and pieces from others' schedules and come up with one that works well for you and your family. I will say that if you can either start half-speed or plan for PHFHG to take a bit longer the first 2-4 weeks you start it (just like any program takes a bit to hit your stride with).
