Notebooks question
Notebooks question
We ordered Bigger and I am starting to plan the accessories that we will need. I checked several places today for the notebooks with the ruled bottom and blank top to allow for drawings and was unable to find any. Does anyone know of a good place to purchase these (online is easy for us too) preferably the full sized sheet (but primary composition notebooks/journals will work too) and what the fullsize notebooks are called so I can do a search for them? Thanks-I just love the planning stage:-)

Re: Notebooks question
Hi,
I ordered from Miller Pad and Paper ( many from here do). Sorry I don't know how to link. They have journals that are called notesketch and also picture/story books. Great prices too!

Re: Notebooks question
Thanks Jeri,
I knew I saw a reference within the last few days and could not remember where. It seems I saw a list of extras that included notebooks and index card type things. Can anyone help me find the link or share what other items you use with Bigger and how many for each child? Box day should be any day now

Re: Notebooks question
our Walmart usually carries Mead's Primary Journal. It is blank on top with ruled lines on bottom. You might ask your child, mine did not want the journal, they just wanted ordinary composition books. They said the lines wouldn't bother them when they did drawings.
Re: Notebooks question
There are also lots of websites that offer printables that you could then put in a binder. Here are a few.

I have 2 in Beyond and 1 in Preparing.
So,
I think I may need..
Miller's Writing Journals for Copywork
Miller's Blank Spelling Books for Spelling

Re: Notebooks question
For Bigger I use a notesketch for Science but a 3-ring binder for History. In Bigger we use a card file and index cards for vocabulary words. The usuals: construction paper, watercolor paint, crayons, colored pencils, etc.

Re: Notebooks question
I just checked out those links from Laura and the Donna Young has sooooo much useful stuff-forms, ideas, I even learned how to take pictures through my microscope! The write-on shapes are really cute and I am sure my turtle-loving dd will be using the turtle one more than once.
So my plan is to use
Picture Storybook Notesketch or just print pages and put them in a 3-ring binder (leaning toward binders so we can add/remove as necessary-Donna Young has such great forms) for:
Science
History
Dictation/copywork
Index cards for:
Vocabulary so that we can alphabetize-it would drive me crazy not to have them in order and add dividers for each letter
Bible Memory-so we can pull random ones and review (make a game of it)
I don't have my guide yet so does this sound like a good plan? Did I mention I like to plan and organize? LOL
