Preparing Extension Package, Help Please...

Post by butterfly113 » Tue Mar 03, 2009 9:35 am

I'm sure this has been asked, but did not see it in my search. Please forgive me if this has been covered... I'm sure it has...

I will be doing Preparing with DS 9 4th grade next year. I am planning on getting the Self Study Deluxe history books for him. Can he read these aloud to me, or should they be read completely on his own? (I just don't want to miss these great stories... he he he! ) :P
Also, Has anyone also purchased the Extension Packs for older and used them for additional read alouds? Is this overkill? Will it really make the days alot longer?
Looking forward to what the HODDIE Ladies have to say!

butterfly113,

The Deluxe Package and Extension Package books are meant for the child to read on their own independently. :D There are some VERY good books in there, so if you wanted your child to read them to you (or you wanted to read them to yourself, you easily could)!

We do have a Basic Package of books for you to read-aloud to your child that do match the history in Preparing Hearts, so you probably wouldn't want the Extension Pack books on top of that (unless you are really a read-aloud loving family). 8)

Blessings,
Carrie
