If I'm not mistaken, once you get to a certain level of spelling, you move on to dictation. I think that starts in the Bigger HFHG guide and progresses in difficulty in each guide thereafter. Each guide has more than one level of dictation to choose from.

What age(s) and/or grade level(s) are you wondering about?

Marsha,

Tamara gave you a great answer! We do move into studied dictation in Bigger and will continue with it all the way through grade 8. The passages in Preparing Hearts are probably difficult enough for your older child, but if you don't have that particular guide, you can always do studied dictation on your own. There are some posts on how to do this in the FAQ folder on the main page of the board and the Preparing Hearts Archived folder on the board's main page. :D

Blessings,
Carrie
