OT- How many states have you been to?

Post by Jessi » Sat Oct 25, 2008 1:53 pm

Ok, something momto5boys stated in the HOD retreat post about wanting to see all 50 states got me thinking.... just how many states have you all been to? This could be lived in, stopped in, vacationed in, or even drove through. Curious who has been to the most states.

Wow, Jessi, that's impressive. I'm going to have to map mine and post it later. My sister went to college in New York state and I drove her home to Texas when she graduated. My best friend moved to Michigan and the kids and I took the Amtrak up to see them. That was a fun trip--I took along a map of the states and we tracked our progress. We also met these same friends in Missouri for vacation one year. Oh, and my husband and I honeymooned in Oklahoma. Hmmm. I'll google me a map and see how many that is. Now you've got me wondering. :P

Oh Ashley, I so envy you  When I was young I went to tractor pulls all over the Southeast with my dad. My grandparents live in New Mexico and we always drove there and back. I have uncles who live in Nevada whom we have driven to see 2 or 3 times. Mind you, this was driving through, not real visiting. I have only actually visited SC, GA, FL, NM, NV, CA, Alabama, TN, WV, and VA. My drive-thrus are Missippi, Arkansas, Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. My total is 16. My total with children is only 4 :( I am really going to have to work on that number :D

I live in TEXAS, so why go anywhere else ! :D I got here as fast as I could and I am staying :!:

No seriously, I grew up in Southeast Louisiana off of Lake Pontchartrain near Mandeville and New Orleans. Most of my extended family lived, or still lives, in Central and South Mississippi. I went to college in Texas, graduated in 1994, and did not want to leave..........

I have been to Washington State, Oklahoma, Arkansas, MO, Alabama, GA, NC, Florida, Maryland, WA. DC, New York, New Jersey, Canada, Mexico, England, LA, MS, TX, and that is all I can think of at the moment.

Interesting thread!

I have NOT visited AZ, NV, CA, CO, NM, ME, DE, NH, but have hit all the others. My dad was a tour bus driver when I was young, and so mom and I spent an awful lot of time on the road with him. :)

Now, my hubby (the singer) on the other hand has traveled to every state except for Hawaii. It's hard to plan a family getaway when his first unthinking response is.. "Oh yeah, I've been there."

Wow you are some traveling mamas! Most of my friends rarely travel outside of the surrounding states of IL. So this is pleasantly surprising to see so many travelers!!!
