When will Preparing be released? Also, is there a place where I can see the table of contents to get a good idea of the topics?
I am looking into HOD, but my kiddos might be too old to get the benefit. My oldest is approaching 11, she is an avid reader, catches on quickly to most anything, flies through math and this year we are doing TOG yr. 1 with a focus on the ancients. My younger is 9, reads fluently, also catches on quickly - she could go either way Preparing or Bigger (with extension) for next year.
? about Preparing
chatmom,
We actually have moms who have already ordered "Preparing Hearts...", but we'll officially start accepting orders in a week or two.
The Preparing Hearts... guide will ship separately by August 1st at the latest.
We will have the Table of Contents up on our site in early April. We will also have a Sample Layout of a day coming by end of February/early March and the first week of plans coming after that.
You could use the history portion of Preparing... with your oldest, along with the Extension Package. You would also add the text "Short Lessons in World History" which raises the level of the program quite a bit. Your oldest would then need her own language arts and math.
Your 9 year old could also probably fit in "Preparing....", so you could combine them if you chose to do so for the history area. Have you gotten a chance to see the placement chart? Here's the link:
