OT-Prayer Request answered Thanks!

Post by water2wine » Fri Aug 29, 2008 1:02 pm

Hi guys. I wanted to thank you all for your prayer and especially for the prayer of diagnosis. I saw the Rhuematologist today. And the answer was kind of funny. Actually the doctor and I were talking politics and we got to laughing at some things to the point neither one of us could stop. We just sort of got stuck on silly. Then she was blurted out laughing "Do you want a diagnosis?" I told her that I did but was also still laughing. She could not stop either and then told me, "You have Fibromyalgia.". So she is now laughing even harder and so am I because we I am saying to her you just gave me a diagnosis while laughing and that puts us both over the edge. So I ask her what does it really mean and she blurts out "You are going to be in a lot of pain but you are not dying". And then we started laughing even harder because the whole thing was very off track. It all sounds weird but it honestly was the best thing I could have wrong with me and I am relieved to have an expert (although a silly and slightly unprofessional, but fun just the same specialist) tell me and in such a way that honestly for me God knew what He was doing.

So thank you so much. The prayer I asked for was diagnosis and it was directly answered. And yes God does have a sense of humor. :D I know the way He chose to let me know for sure what I had was part of His design, because really in all honesty I should be laughing in the face of this. And as weird as it sounds I know God was in that delivery and had it given to me with humor for that purpose. I have so much peace now and relief. Thank you so much for your prayers. I am at the end of the path that takes many people years to get diagnosed and I know I got to it quickly only through prayer. :D Thanks for helping me get there!

I'm so glad that you got a diagnosis. :D And that you got the news in such a humourous way! A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones (prov. 17:22), so it is so very good to be able to laugh about this and not let it get you down!

I don't know much about fibromialgia....is there anything that they can do to make you more comfortable? A perscription of some sort?

How now would you like us to pray?

I'm so glad you've got an answer. Now you can move on to your treatment and hopefully an easy management of the pain/sickness/fatigue and whatever else may be involved. :)

Kelly thank you. I am actually on a medication and it does help. :D All in all I am well and have been dealing with it for a while. The big thing was just to know that it was not something more serious. In my mind this is not going to alter my life. I just have to do things differently and manage my time differently but I am not slowing down, just taking better care of myself along the way. It's the absolute best diagnosis I could have gotten for my symptoms. And in reality it's a new beginning for me. So I am actually really good right now but thank you so much for asking. :D

I am so glad you finally have a diagnosis. You know, one of my favorite "paintings" of Jesus is the one with his head throw back laughing. I am glad he chose to give you this diagnosis with humor.

water2wine,

My best friend has Fibromyalgia so if you would like me to I can ask her if she has any good web sites or other info for you.

Praising God that he answered your prayer directly. It is a good to know why you have the symptoms you do.

Blessings,
Paige

waterwine,

I'm glad that you have a diagnosis, even though it will definitely require adjustment in your life. I know it helps sometimes just to have answers and to know what you're dealing with. It is an answered prayer for many of the moms on the board who have been praying for you that it is not something even more serious. Thanks for updating us on your progress.

Blessings,
Carrie
