JUST FINISHED OUR FIRST DAY!!!!!

We just got done with our first day of school and everyone is sooooo happy yeah yeah yeah!! Although we got off to a late start, all the kiddos ( 2 ds 7, 1 dd 10, 1 ds 12 and 1 ds 13) were done in about an hour to an hour in a half. We did not do any crafts, or science experiments today :( , but they are all excieted about getting into all of that tomarrow. Even the older two boys, who do not like to do any writing or reading, have both said that they like this alot better. I use the PHFHG TM as a guild for there lessons and it worked out great. I cannot remember one day last year when I was actually ready to dive in and have school again tomarrow. :P :P

Ooh, I'm so glad you had a good trial run! Settling in on the first day can be so intimidating! If anyone's still smiling, you had a great first day! :lol: Just kidding!

Today was our first day back, too, and I feel SOOOOO relieved! I was just nervous about how we would get everything done, with a 1yo running around, and we began at 8:15 and ended at 12:15. This included morning prayers, math for both children, english, spelling, phonics for my younger DC, everything in the guide and we used Bigger and LHFHG! This also included an accidental baby poop on the floor, laundry, nursing the babe! I turned off the computer and phones, and we got so much more done without my distractions. I am convinced that turning off the phone and computer are HUGE to keep ME focused so I can keep THEM focused. I am SOOOO happy and relieved. The hardest part was definitely math....we stopped at about lesson 99 in saxon, and I expected to just pick back up with lesson 100 today--WRONG. DS completely blanked on multiplication and just about everything. I think we will start with some review, but other than that, the day was a perfect success, and I am very grateful, thankful, and excited. YAY!!!
DS 11 Finished CtoC! Moving on to RtoR!
DD 9 Preparing- Hoping to give her the best year possible, and sticking to the guide as written!
DS 4 All About Reading, R&S preschool workbooks, maybe some Little Hands

Oh what a day can make!!! :? It must have been that full moon :lol: yesturday was, well let's just say "not as productive as the first"......
We are going in sssslllllowwww today, deep breath aaaaaaahhhhhh. And hoping for a better day today :D .
Everyone just "lost their little minds" yesturday!!! You all know the routine, the blank stare, the oh so famous "I don't know" and the "but I thought you said........" :roll: :lol: Today has got to be better
