I noted in the "preparing packages" that the books such as Draw and Write/5000 year old puzzle and so forth are given under Independent Practice with really cool notebooking assignments. I was wondering if the extension pack which contains the Woolly Mammoth/Ancient World also contain "cool" things to do for the older children as well or if they are simply assigned a certain number of pages to read.
Thanks to Allison and Carrie for their advice on my previous post.

Re: Preparing extension pack question.
Beth,
The Extension Package contains reading assingments only, as we're assuming that your older students are joining in on the rest of "Preparing..." for the hands-on projects and notebooking assignments. However, some moms don't want their older kiddos to miss out on the notebooking (that you mentioned) which is assigned in the Deluxe Package, so they're just adding whatever titles from that package they think will inspire their older kiddos and ordering those in addition to the Extension Package. The assignments in the Deluxe Package are very short each day, so an avid reader could do both! It's so hard to pass up on anything wonderful isn't it? I have the same affliction!
Blessings,
Carrie

Re: Preparing extension pack question.
Wow! I just posted this like 10 minutes ago. Thanks for the fast reply. This helps with my ordering dilema, as I did lose some money to another curriculum company by changing and they did not refund certain items. It will help me to economize, but we have to get "Woolly" because she is a nut for stuff like that.
Thanks so much for your help!

Re: Preparing extension pack question.
Beth,
I don't think I was very clear in my response, so let me try again. If you have an older student, we're assuming you're using the Extension Package as is in addition to the Economy Package. However, if you have some other additional titles from the Deluxe Package that you'd like to add to your Extension Package, you can easily do that. If finances are tight, you'd want to stick with the Extension Package to raise the level of the readings.
Blessings,
Carrie
