"Deep Division"

My 7 1/2 yo DS is doing long division in Singapore 3A. He thinks it should be called Deep Division "because it's not that long and it actually goes down", in his words. He was pretty intimidated at first, but is proud of himself that he is starting to memorize more of the steps. This time of year two years ago, I was doing this with my then-8 1/2 year old daughter and Julie wrote a wonderful blog post after I wrote in with my struggle.
