What pen to use for Student Notebook pages

Post by Mathmommy » Sat Apr 22, 2017 10:04 am

Looking for suggestions on good pens/markers/pencils to use on notebook pages. Kids complain that some don't write well on the glossy surface, but the gel pens smear EVERYTHING. Washable markers are no good and colored pencils are hard to see. So, has anyone had luck with a certain kind of pen. We're looking for something that can be used to write in the boxes and secondly, something that can be used to color in pictures/maps/timeline figures etc.

Thanks!

We have had a similar problem. Ds uses pencil mostly, it works well though it tends to be light. For some of the coloring he really wanted to do he used ball point pens, your basic red and blue. Otherwise he didn't color because it was frustrating. I would like to hear if anyone has found something good to use. Next ds does like to color so it would be great to find something ahead of time that works.

We have used the Frixion erasable pens and have absolutely loved them. My kids really like writing in pen anyway and they use these for all assignments, not just the notebooking pages. They sell them in color as well as the traditional black and blue.
