Guide Tips and Tricks

Post by ekfleet » Sun Aug 07, 2016 10:21 pm

Good Evening Everybody!

We are 5 weeks in (LHFHG) and loving HOD. I was taking a nap this afternoon and I was dreaming about my HOD guide - haha, but seriously ya'll - I love it. :) I have been really been torn about writing in it and checking off boxes for the day. I will use the guide with three other kids so I can't bring myself to mark up my pages but I like to check things off - you know?!
sooo...I found that cutting the edge off a clear paper protector and covering my guide for the day allows me to check off the boxes and see what I have done without leaving my book messy. Here's a picture...

My question to you all - do you have any guide tips and tricks that you have found helpful? I would love to know about them - sticky notes, tabs, etc.?

Great idea! I have marked mine up with pencil.....I am starting to regret that. Oh well, what is done is done. For the fall I made up a sheet for each week so that I can mark that instead....also I can add any grades I need to on that and can later enter in into my excel 'grade book'. My boys like having grades.

We used to do the page protector thing too, but now we just use sticky flags to show which boxes are finished. I write in my guide with pencil all the time. I even plan out our DITHOR schedule and write it in the guide in pencil. It can be erased so I'm fine with it. When we used page protectors, someone would inevitably forget to move it and accidentally mark a page without it.
