a little early but....
I've got a question about what to do about next year.
I'm doing LHFHG w/the K stuff with Evelyn this year. So next year do I still use LHFHG and just change some of the books to the 1st grade or do I move on to beyond with 1st???
A little confussed how this works as they get older....

So then preparing would only bring me through grade 3 I know there are not "grades" associated to each book per se, but if I'm doing LH for K then it matches the "flow". Right?
But on the program selection chart it looks like preparing could be for kids up to age 12 which is a big difference I would think from age 8.
This is where I get confused....

That's with the extension package. sometimes kids do a program in one year and sometimes due to maturity or time conflicts or whatever, it takes a bit more than a year to finish one guide. Somewhere on the board, it talked about leaving some wiggle room in the schedule of doing the first 3 guides. where was that....holyhart wrote:But on the program selection chart it looks like preparing could be for kids up to age 12 which is a big difference I would think from age 8.

Another question
........sick of me yet???
So next year we go to beyond, from the cataloge, it looks like I am still using the same phonics book (we got the RME). Is that right? So that must mean that I only get through roughly half that book with her this year? I haven't figured out the number of lessons to units ration so I'm just guessing here...
Is that right or do I go on to a different phonics program at that point?

Kelly,
The ladies are doing such a great job of helping you, so I'll just chime in to say that whenever you finish phonics, you just head right into the Emerging Reader Schedule, as Dorla mentioned.
That schedule is provided in the Appendix of Beyond..., so you can start it any time without throwing off the flow of teaching Beyond.
Blessings,
Carrie
