Church History in RtR?

Post by kidsforHim » Tue Apr 14, 2015 3:06 pm

Is there any church history in RtR and if so how much or how deep does it go? Would it be difficult to add it in for a high schooler using the guide?

Yes, church history is found throughout RTR. The books Peril & Peace and Monks & Mystics contain many character sketches of people from church history. The church was actively involved in all of life during the Middle Ages so there is lots of mention of it in the Story of the Middle Ages. The people and events of the Reformation are covered in Mystery of History - Gutenberg, Wycliffe, Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, Henry VIII & Church of England, the Huguenots, and many stories of other people who were persecuted for their faith. It made my son want to research more; his idea is to make a "family tree" of protestant denominations.
