Nature Journal for MTMM?
I looked over the list of supplies and was wondering if anyone had a list of exactly what they got and from where? I feel so clueless trying to find the supplies. If I could order most of them from one place - that would be great!
Thank you for any help or links (maybe this was discussed before?)
Thank you!

Hi Lynn,
If you go to Barry Stebbing ' s website you can order a set that has everything you need for $30. He is the author of the nature journal. I don't think I'm allowed to post links to other sites per board rules?? Just try googling his name. I think the site is called howgreatthouart. HTH.

Thank you - that did help to see it all together! I have more than one student, though, and want to do this in as budget friendly manner as possible.
I was wondering what is glossy paper?
What kind of pens did you find work well?
Any advice on finding a journal- I'm guessing there are so many options out there. I guess I just have to start looking around, but I'd love to hear what other people have purchased.
Thank you!

If I remember correctly, the glossy paper is just paper is just photo paper.

Oops. Sorry for the typo. I accidentally hit send too soon.
Re: Nature Journal for MTMM?
We bought finger painting paper for the glossy paper. I'm not sure where I read that you could use that, but it worked fine. I just bought a fine point pen in the scrapbooking area of MIchaels. Those made by micron are good and it's what you need for the WG guide also. I bought the journal at Michaels also with a 50% off coupon.

This looks smaller than what we used, but I think Carrie or someone mentioned the elastic strap being nice: http://www.crgibson.com/small-sketch-ru ... 6rUsXlOWM-

Re: Nature Journal for MTMM?
I am gathering supplies for MtMM and trying to figure out what glossy paper to buy. It looks like in the past people have recommended glossy scrapbook papers or finger painting paper. Has anyone found either of these to better than another? Is there another option to consider? I've been flipping through the Nature Journal lesson book to see what medium is used on it and it seems it is for markers (at least in lesson 13). I just want to make sure I get something that doesn't cause the marker to bead up on top! Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hello!
How exciting that you are on the verge of beginning your nature journal in Missions to Modern Marvels. Our youngest son is currently doing that guide too.
As far as the nature journal goes, the lessons where you need glossy paper are few and far between. We actually ended up using a bound nature journal with paper that works well for markers and colored pencils. We’ve used three different journals with three different boys. So, literally anything will work! Some of my boys had larger journals, others had smaller ones. I would just go with something that appeals to you and your child. It really does need to lay flat. If your child is a lefty, it helps to have the binding on the top of the page, rather than on the sides. Or, if the pages can be removed and put back in for a lefty that works too.
For our youngest son this year, we found a journal that was a small leather look three ring binder. The pages come out of the binder, so he can draw on them just one page at a time. He used the journal at the end of last year for about three weeks, so the jury is still out whether we love this style of journal or not. Happy journaling!
Blessings,
Carrie
