organizing CtC

Does anyone else have ideas for organizing CtC? Tips for what worked and what didn't? What notebooks did you use?

Thanks! I love seeing those. I'm wondering if anyone else has ideas. I especially like to hear from people who are using it or finished and they can tell what they liked/didn't like. I'm finishing Beyond and Preparing really soon-and there are some things I will do the same next time and some that I will change. I'm excited to start the next guides.

I got a big huge binder and put the student notebooking pages, dividers, white paper/experiment pages/notebook paper, maps, and watercolor paper that was already 3-hole punched. I also got a nicer common place book for this year which she will use for at least through the next guide as well if not more... I would like to get through MtMM with it, but we will see.

I went through and got all the books I needed for the first 10 weeks and put all the rest in a storage box. As DD finished one I would put that one in our "finished and don't need within the next year" box and would get out her new one.

Our What's in the World cd's stayed in the van because that's where we listen to cd's...

IMO organizing CTC was much easier than organizing everything else simply because of the notebooking pages.

I use a 3-inch binder for History and another labeled "Multi-Subject". The history binder has the notebooking pages and history projects that were store-able. We also put the geography maps and travel logs in the history binder along with lined and unlined paper.

Our Multi-Subject 3-inch binder uses dividers for the other subjects. Everything is stored in the correct compartment in the binder. We use plastic sheet protectors for some things but not most.

The books for CTC are all together on the book shelf. DITHR books are together on the shelf below.

After we complete a genre from DITHR, I slice the pages out of the book and 3-whole punch it. We store it in the Multi-Subject Binder. I only do this because we do the genres out of order plus we will not finish all of the genres during this guide. We will only complete 3. When we begin RTR, I will do the same thing with the workbook and put it in the new multi-subject notebook that accompanies that guide/school year.

That's it. Easy peasy :-).
