Just ordered Preparing!!
Just ordered Preparing!!
I officially ordered Preparing!!
I said in another thread that I think I should just go ahead and begin Preparing, rather than wait until fall. I thought with my dd's dyslexia, I should give her time to improve in her reading. But, even with the slow reading, she needs to move ahead, and some things said on this board confirmed that. Now, I just need to wait for my package. As I was placing my order, I almost got tears in my eyes. After a very tough 2013, I once again have that peace that I had 4 years ago when the Lord directed me to HOD.
God bless YOU, Carrie, for blessing US with these guides! I am so glad to be back!!

Re: Just ordered Preparing!!
Good for you!! We are in Unit 12 of Preparing and loving every minute of it! I am sure you will too. My son is in 4th grade and had much difficulty learning to read. He can read pretty much on grade level now, but is very sloooow about it
I never sought an official diagnosis, but I strongly suspect he has mild dyslexia. When we started Preparing, I was skeptical of how much independent work he could actually accomplish. It is slow going sometimes, but I see him making steady progress in his ability to accomplish the independent boxes
. I am sure you will see the same progress with your daughter!

Re: Just ordered Preparing!!
Congratulations Pam! I'm glad you are feeling peace about it. Can't wait to hear how it goes for you and your daughter.
I am leaning toward using Preparing also. I'm going to look at the week samples and pray about it some more. I think it was a big deal for me to realize that we can take our time - we don't have to finish each unit of plans in one week, or even one "day" of plans in one day. And a big deal to know that other parents of dyslexic kids are using HOD successfully. I'm also excited that our children can use a program that builds their skills while still being intellectually stimulating and above all points them to God! I'll add my thanks to Carrie as well!

Re: Just ordered Preparing!!
Kristen,
It was your thread and Laura's reply that enlightened me. Angie has come a long way the past several months. I know I can't wait seven more months to begin challenging her more. It encourages me as well to know how others with children with dyslexia are using HOD successfully. The Bible training in HOD is probably the top reason I am drawn to it. I can't wait to see what is in Preparing. I've seen so many posts about how good it is.
Thanks for all the replies. Glad to join those doing Preparing. I will surely let you know how it is going. Not sure when it will be delivered, but once it's here, we're jumping in!!

HOORAY!
I'm so excited for you and Angie to begin the anticipated PHFHG! You two deserve a good year, and PHFHG is just the guide to return to use. It is such an enjoyable guide for both the teacher and the student. I hope you have a special year together in PHFHG!
