Awesome First Day with Beyond!!!

My son and I were supposed to start yesterday, but it snowed so I let him have the day off. He spent it outside sledding with the neighbors. So today was our first official day back with HOD. We both loved it! I am so glad to be back! I know it was only the first day so some of it is the newness, but Samuel had a blast. He kept telling me over and over how fun school was and how he was so glad we switched. He was his old happy, loving to learn self that I had been missing. It was great confirmation for me that I made the right decision to bring back his love of learning. Even doubling up on the Beyond plans (adding our own math & apologia science) we were done in 3 hours. I couldn't believe it! Of course we didn't have any big projects or experiments today so I could see it going longer if that was the case, but that is so much better than the 6-7 hours our old stuff was taking.

I realized just a few minutes ago that our schooling before had thrown our whole day off balance. I always felt stressed and like I was way behind not just in school, but in everything. Today we got up, did school, I got some cleaning done, made it to the grocery store and ran a couple of errands and still have time to be here on the computer for a few minutes before starting dinner. It is such a change of pace from before and I can see this bringing peace and balance not just to our school time, but to our daily activities as well!

That is awesome. My kids also love school with HOD too. And I even though my day doesn't take forever, I feel like they really do learn a lot in the time frame that we do school.

So glad your first day went well!!! My kiddos are in Unit 20 in LHTH and LHFHG and we had a great day today as well! No one complained about anything and they did all their work cheerfully. I really do LOVE HOD and am so glad the Lord lead me here

That's how we've felt going back. My boy is about the same age as yours, I think. This is the happiest he's been with school for a while.

I have been spoiled with HOD. Right now, with 3 guides and a 1YO, if school takes 4-4 1/2 hours for all of them, I should be pretty happy with that but sometimes I am not.
