order of books in DITHOR

After reading one of the other threads regarding DITHOR, it seems as if for level 4-5 we'll only read half of the books this year and half of them will be for next year. Please correct me if that's wrong! My son was looking at the order of books, and he REALLY is wanting to read Dragons Of The Deep TODAY! Did I mention he's super excited about the books!!! It looks like that will be a book that we wouldn't do until next year, as it's in the last half of the list. It doesn't seem imperative that we do the books in the actual order listed. From last year, it doesn't seem it would have mattered much if we had gone a in different order. What are your thoughts? Thanks!

You can do them in any order you want. Sounds like your challenge will be to keep him to reading only the number of pages he is supposed to read. I am sure he will love Dragons of the Deep, my ds sure did.

You can pick any order you want for the genres. If he is excited about one particular one, I would probably start with that one.

I see Bigger listed in your signature for your oldest dc. If you are doing Bigger this year, you will do all of the genres this year since Bigger schedules DITHOR everyday. It's not until you get to Preparing that it is scheduled only 3 days a week and then you only cover 5 genres in one year.

Yes you will cover half of the books and you can do them in any order you want. I would let him pick. I always let my ds pick out of a selection I choose.
