What level will you be using in HOD for him/her next school year? Are you adding extensions? How many children will you be using that level with?

I have a 9yo who will be 10 in July. He would be in 5th grade in public school, but we chose to "hold him back" a year in his schooling. Of course, for homeschooling this doesn't matter, but we actually held him back in Sunday School and Awanas as well.

Anyway, we'll be doing "Preparing" next year and we're so excited. We won't be using the extensions, as he is more on target with the regular reading used in "Preparing".

I have a 9 turning 10 year old, but he will be in 4th grade. He'll be doing "Preparing..." next year without the extensions, since the target age range is 8-10 with extensions for older kiddos.

My 9yr old just turned 10 (5th grade) on the 23rd of May :D and we will use Preparing with the Extension pack. Although I am the one who will read the Extension Pack books because Josh struggles with reading (although he is improving).

Technically he is doing 4th grade or below with his 3R's.

My 9yr old (3rd grade) daughter will join us too. She is at or above grade level with the 3R's. She is an older 3rd grader because of her end of Sep. B-day. In Ca she would be in 4th grade but here in TX she is in 3rd grade :? (which I like because I get to have her for an 'extra' year)

Blessings,

Our boy will be 10 in September and in 4th grade. We're considering Preparing for he and his sister going into 3rd grade.
I'll probably skip the extension package.

I'm leaning more towards the Bigger program, but that's because I want to keep my soon to be 5th grader and 2nd grader on the same program. My soon to be 2nd grader hasn't had any American History, so I hesitate to just skip over it and move into Preparing. I will use extensions with my 5th grader.
