Does this go along with MFW RtR?

I am a mother of 5 (3 yo - 15 yo) and am trying to figure out our curriculum for next year. I had already bought all the MFW Rome to the Reformation for my kids to do two years ago, but then we had some foster kids thrown into our family, so it had to wait. This last year, they have been gone and we have been doing 3 HOD guides (our first year doing HOD). I am looking to this Fall and wondering if I do the MFW RtR, if this Resurrection to Reformation guide would be a good add-on for my, will be 12 yo son. Would that be overkill? Like doing 2 curriculums side-by-side? I love how HOD has the independent work for them to do and he needs a lot more practice with that, besides all the other wonderful things that are part of this guide, but I also want to do something that is manageable. Any thoughts?

This is a great question, seeing as we are currently a MFW and would love to hear some feedback on this as we decide for this summer. I hope someone sees this and chimes in!

Typically questions asked in the main forum get seen and answered much more quickly. I have not done RTR yet but will be doing it next year.
My opinion is that HOD is very full. I personally think this would be very difficult to complete both. If you wanted to skip the story time box and do a different book from MFW you could do that. But I love doing HOD the way that it is. I came from MFW too. I found that following the guide with HOD is very balanced if you do it the way the guide is written. For me, I would probably shy away from doing both. I am sure there are probably books in MFW that you may love. You can do those separately if you want. But I found that once I found HOD, I knew I couldn't do both of anything. It would just be too much. For us, HOD has been a great fit. We really like learning separately and my kids do so well doing their own age appropriate items.
I hope you find what you are looking for. MFW and HOD are very different. So I guess you would just need to decide what would work for you.

Hi Deneale,
Thank you for chiming in after I posted. I wonder if the original person ever did see this? I wanted to ask, if you wouldn't mind sharing, why you left MFW for HOD? I am looking at possibly doing the same for my upcoming 6th, 9th, and 11th grade children. If you'd rather send a PM, that would be fine too. Anything you are willing to share would be wonderfully appreciated. Thanks so much!
