Dusty,
I loved your 'Yellow' pages, your toothpick stables, and your tape day 'Q'. You are such a creative momma!
It IS exciting to be in the New Testament and to be reading about Christ's birth!
I loved your field trips too.
Homeschooln2qts,
I enjoyed reading your update! I agree that it can take some time to find just the right fit in HOD for each child. You're so right that the skills make a big difference in how well a child can do in each guide. You are such a good momma to take the time and energy to figure out where each of your children fit best.
I know you will find that once you've matched your child to the right developmental level guide, your kiddos will soar!
Correct placement makes a huge difference in how successful HOD is for families, as each guide is more difficult than the previous one as we work to target needed skills and independence in incremental steps.
I'll look forward to your update when you get a chance.
TLCA,
I'm so glad to hear that your little honey enjoyed her second week of CTC!
It looks like she is having so much fun! I enjoyed seeing her animal track's page and her notebook. Both are turning out so well! You have a little artist on your hands.
While you can easily use store bought clay for upcoming projects, before you bypass the upcoming recipes for dough/clay in the guides I will share that we have found that our boys have learned much about how to follow recipes and about what to add if needed to get a desired consistency for the clays in the guide. It has taught them so much about making things from scratch and what to do when things don't turn out as planned!
I think of this as a life skill. Our goal for the projects within HOD are that they be as much about the process as the product!
Blessings,
Carrie
