We have had a wonderful start to our school year! I have been wanting to post each unit...and they keep slipping away from me. So here are a few higlights from our 1st 4 units of CTC.

Grant is enjoying learning about the beginning of history - starting with creation.

Using his beautiful student notebook pages...

Doing his history projects, like making a seal, a shepherd's headress, and having a simple Hebrew meal in his shepherd gear...


We loved reading Dinosaurs of Eden in storytime, and are now enjoying The Golden Bull. Here he is ready to advertise the book...


He's been painting in response to Robert Frost's poems and sharing them with us.


And, we've been learning about Land Animals as he shares his new knowledge with us. Here he is experimenting with Cougars & Deer...

..how human's sense of sight affects their sense of smell...

...and how camoflauge helps prey & predators.

I'm also enjoying LHFHG with my sweet little 6 year old - who just lost her 1st tooth!


We've been studying the life of Jesus. His miracles - giving sight to the blind...seeking the lost to save - like Zacheus who climbed the tree...

...celebrating his entry into Jerusalem...and talking about his betrayal & crucifixion. (The picture shows lips and we talked about how a kiss usually shows love, but Judas used it to betray. She LOVED getting to kiss it with lipstick!)


She enjoys handwriting and fine motor skill practice. (Totally different from her brother!!! ) Here is her favorite picture recently - a rainbow.


We've been cruising along in math, and are almost done with the Earlybird 2B book (which we began last school year). Right now we're telling time.

And, my little guy, Garret is thriving in LHTH. We started this past spring and picked it back up on Unit 5 this year.
We read about Joseph, his colorful coat, and how his brothers sold him into slavery in Egypt...

...how those brothers came and bowed down to him, but didn't recognize him...

Then we moved on to Moses...

...and a very timely refresher on loving and caring for a baby!!


He's REALLY grown in his ability to cut out pictures for our number book!


We continue to love all the different letter activities that build his fine motor skills, too!


Now...off to add our new HODie to the bunch!!

Oh Kathleen, I really enjoyed all the pictures! You have a good looking bunch of kids there and it looks like they are having a blast with school! Enjoy the new little one.

We just had our very first week of CTC and really enjoyed it! I already LOVE how our dd's notebook is looking. I know it will be a treasured keepsake!

It's so much fun looking at everyone's week! I love to see the guides ahead of what we're doing.

My dd is in her 2nd time through LHTH Bible activities finished Unit 2 and began Unit 3 this week. She's also doing Fine Motor/Math activities from LHFHG and LOVING them.

My ds is enjoying Beyond . He finished Unit 2 and began Unit 3 this week.

We have had a wonderful week in CTC. My son absolutely LOVED the clay creations and the Poetry Art this week. He is a very artsy kiddo and this kind of stuff is really up his alley. He has also loved Science - he tells me each day about what he reads without me even asking. He just loves to tell me all the cool stuff he read! The only issue I am having with him is making sure he thoroughly reads the box and does each step. He is getting this, though, and I am sure he will be great at it in no time!

My younger ds is doing Beyond and having a fabulous time. Each day when he sees me pull out the history books, he says, "YAY! My fun stuff!!!" Here are some pictures from our time this week.

Awe looks like you had a great week Rebecca! I LOVE the Benjamin West and his Cat picture! The animal track book is great too and that's a very thorough Science Lab sheet!
