! enjoy looking at pictures of the children working. I hope I can figure out how to post pictures when I have some.

This week we finished days 1-4 of Unit 2 in LHFHG. DD is adjusting to this very nicely after being in school for K. Last week I had a hard time getting her to do 'God's Creation' in Rhymes and Motion. But this week she is enjoying 'Just Because of Sin' because she thinks jumping backward is so much fun. You have to understand why this is a big deal. Angie was born with a form of CP that weakened the left side of her body. So anything physical that she does on her own is progress. Also, handwriting is a struggle. Angelina had O.T. on Monday. When I picked her up, the O.T. said her handwriting was BEAUTIFUL!

I asked Angie what her favorite part of school is. She started naming off all the boxes. She said she likes everything! She loves to hear Bible stories and I love how those stories are teaching her such valuable lessons. This is what makes HOD so good. :D Angie was excited when we began unit 2, because she already knew Ephesians 6:1. :) We are just getting started, but I'm anticipating a great year!
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. III John 4

Enjoyed reading your blog, Beth. :) That was a pretty interesting Science experiment with the Crisco. :) I loved the miniature clothesline, cute idea.

Pam, it was so awesome to read about your daughter's progress! Beautiful handwriting!~ that's a high compliment! Glad to hear that she is loving LHFHG!

CTC Unit 3~ Day 1&2

Can I say something? Independence is AWESOME! Ever since I handed the guide over to my son to do the independent portions by himself he has soared. He gets done much quicker and is much more interested in it now that he feels more independent. He's not just doing it cause mom said. kwim? He tells me what he is reading about so I don't feel left out of the loop at all. My daughter has dropped CTC and we are now waiting to get started with Bigger. She is doing Math, English, Spelling, and DITHR everyday in the meantime.

*We are enjoying The Golden Bull. Nothing like a fascinating story to help you learn about a time period. Much better than any dry history textbook!
*A Peck of Gold is ds's favorite poem so far. Not finished with the painting yet.
*We are learning about bears in Land Animals this week. Ds has been fascinated with this and has lots to tell me about after his readings.

Here is a pic of some bear tracks in his Nature Journal:

I love seeing everyone's kids having so much fun with HOD! And, I especially like seeing pics of people in the guides ahead of us. It makes me so excited to get to do them in a few years. But, for now we are having tons of fun with LHFHG. Here's my blog post about our week http://cherish-each-moment.blogspot.com ... eek-4.html

We started on Friday, August 6th with our party. The girls opened their school supplies and made cupcakes to celebrate. They picked out T-shirts from Walmart that seemed perfect for Little Hearts this year!

Susannah got a school desk for her work as she is too big for the picnic table now. She really likes it.

Really enjoyed the first unit and starting to get into the groove of our school day.

BTW - photobucket didn't seem to reflect the cropping/resizing of the pictures until the next day.
