Here is a link to my blog post about our second week in the World Geography guide. It went much better than our first. This post even has a little video added of what my ds does for his physical education class. The amazing thing is that according to his MRI there is no way he should be able to do these things, in fact he should be in a wheelchair. This week watching my ds participate in his class was just another reminder of how God can do so much more than we can ever imagine.

Thanks LynnH. I love your great photos and descriptions and I am so glad you guys had a much better week this week! I love that your husband is reading and discussing with your son. It is great when those Dad's get involved too!
This was our last "full" week to work on school and to try to get a week's worth done in a week's time. Next week, along with Labor Day which I guess we are taking off, we have our co op beginning on Fridays which will make that day a non-school day. I was praying that the Lord would help me discover how I would have the energy to tackle fall activities in addition to school and home, and He has answered my prayers. Only by relying on Him do I do anything in this life that is worth doing. And only with His Spirit and His power can we truly hope to impact the next generation and that their faith will grow and they will be lights for him as the world gets ever darker.
We did not finish our full week. My 5YO got sick on Wednesday and my 7YO on Thursday. We may try to finish up some of their stuff tomorrow. My 9YO did finish her week of Preparing, unit 25. My 5YO worked on Unit 4 of LHFHG and my 7YO worked on Unit 32 of Beyond.
Preparing is in the Medieval times. The books and things we are reading are so interesting! And then the History project this week was for her to plan and have a Medieval feast. This was such a fun project for her and for the whole family! She enjoyed preparing the food and we made a fun time of it, doing poems in between each course. I had them each do a poem from their book, my 5YO did her rhyme for the week. We learned about knights and castles, and a little bit of the social structure of that time. She is doing great with her Bible memory work, I can't really keep up with her anymore. I used to memorize the verses right along with her as she learned them but now she is ahead of me.
In Beyond we were talking about California, the gold rush, and the migration of people to California. The bar graph activity of the population of California was fun and really struck her. The stories of the boy who travelled to meet his father in California were fun and interesting. Overall it was a great, though shortened week.
LHFHG we had fun with until my DD got sick and then it was more of a whining problem. She still seems to not be feeling quite herself. Well, we will work through our issues and hopefully come Tuesday we can get back into a routine and be working to get all of the work done.
Overall I am working hard on trying to get our routine going and meals prepped ahead of time so that cooking in the evenings is quicker and easier. Balancing all of the things in the household is a challenge and I pray God will give me wisdom and perseverance in all of these things.
Blessings to all!
