Another week has flown by!
We dropped back to a more-than-half-speed, and less-than-full-speed. We need extra work in some areas, and they are helping their dad clear out some land, so are taking a few hours here and there for a different set of skills. So no LHTH for dd.

LHFHG: we are in unit 15
He especially loved story and activity about Lazarus. We had to wrap him, or his siste,r several times for this. :D Great job, Carrie!
He excells in the Singapore Math, doing okay on everything else. He also really liked painting the tree for Zaccheus.

Bigger Hearts: in Unit 26
Learning about the Civil War. He actually already knows more about it than I realized. Mainly due to audiobooks.
Lincoln is one of his favorite presidents, so he greatly enjoyed hearing about him, and making his 'stovepipe' hat. He understands a little more about how the Underground Railroad was run.
He really got into division in Singapore math, and has done several pages a day.
One of the many reasons we dropped full-speed is to work on more English, reading, and cursive with him. He picked up speed on the reading by dividing his 'assignment' and he finished another ER book. :D
As much as I wanted him to complete Cheerful Cursive I had to put that aside. :( I printed off worksheets for him that just go through the alphabet first, then simple words. This week he copied Aa-Gg and excelled in all except the big E. Today I caught him putting those letters together on a couple words in his poetry copywork and writing them in cursive. :o So, that has been a major transformation!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I love looking at everyone's week! :P Seeing the curriculum in action is very encouraging.

We finished up Unit 6 in LHTH this week, and are really having fun with it! I don't have any pictures (bad mommy  ) but there are so many highlights!

We loved the story of Joseph! We spent a lot of time talking about leadership and forgiveness in simple ways Joel (3 yrs 10 mos) could understand, and he looked forward eagerly to reading the New Bible in Pictures for Little Eyes every day. He grabs it off the shelf and carefully finds just the right page. I don't even have to tell him!

All of us had a great time acting out the stories :D It was a family affair! I really wish I had pictures.

We are enjoying the ABC Bible Verses book. Joel remembers the verses and the stories really well. He even tells us now to do all things without complaining and arguing! Now that is priceless!

We spent some time learning E. Joel's Hide and Seek letter pages are perfect. He takes great pride in them :D He loves to stand at the whiteboard and write letters. By the time we're done with LHTH he'll be more than ready for A Reason for Handwriting K.

Thanks for reading! It was a great week.
