I'll have to ponder this some more, but I think I might do that... get DITHOR to begin after my mom is here so she can do it with us.
I'm really starting to look forward to a life that includes HOD!

Me too! I still love DITHOR and have used it for quite awhile (even in tutoring before homeschooling). I really like so many parts about it, but like Darci mentioned, the kickoff ideas and the wrap-up ideas are so great. In fact, today we are preparing for the re-enactment of my ds's favorite portion of his book. He's so excited! He even made a tiny part for our baby (a turtle that crawls around). Anyway, I think it's neat to still do things that celebrate reading, and it really helps the genre stick in their minds. Even my 5 yo recognizes the folk tale genre now, just from being part of the re-enactment. It's a one-of-a-kind program. I've done it 5 days a week, and I've done it 3 days a week. I've done half the genres one year, and all the genres another. It's very flexible! I think it's important not to skip things, but as far as the pace and the book selection, there's a ton of flexibility.6timeboymom wrote:I for one can't say enough good things aobut DITHOR!
