Re: Quizlet for dictation

I had four in dictation for awhile, and will again... maybe even five... We eat our bigger meal at noon (since that is when my DH can come and eat with us as a family). I have found that dictation is a great thing to do during the thirty minutes before we eat lunch while I'm prepping food. Those upp...

M2MM science kits... order new or reuse?

C500 and the Genetics & DNA?

Would you order new kits for a new child (two years later), or do you think there's enough left to reuse?

Re: A Child's Geo. in CTC

Interestingly enough, this is my third year going through it (and I'll still have three more to go), and it is my favorite. I'm enjoying it, and my DS likes it as well.

Re: NEED some reviews on World Geography Guide

I don't have the time right now to address all your questions, but I do want to share my daughter's recent comments. She has done all the guides from Bigger through currently week 32 of World Geography. She says this guide has the most information that will stay with her her whole life. She says she...

Re: WG for a senior...any changes necessary?

I wouldn't think any changes would be needed to award those credits. My daughter is completing them this year, and it is full and rich.

Re: World Geography Guide

It is a very full year/credit of science. I believe there are some folks (not HOD) that spread it over two years for a two credits.

There are many days where students need to do two lessons from the textbook.

Re: World History Guide... What books are needed for the fi

Thanks, Carrie. I'm still working with the virtual school, and they will no longer order from HOD because you're a Christian company. :( So, my personal Heart of Dakota order won't be large enough to necessitate two orders. I'll just order the needed notebook pages, guide, and Christian books togeth...

World History Guide... What books are needed for the first

twenty weeks? I'm going to have to order these books in shifts. I'm assuming the books are in order of use on the HOD website. If so, you could just let me know how far down the list I need to buy for each section to have everything we'll need through week 20. I'd really appreciate it if someone cou...

Re: Five guides

HOD is such a blessing! I am so thankful for the guides. They really make our homeschooling manageable. I'm happy to say that we've hit our groove this year, and even with five guides I'm usually done with my day by 3:00 in the afternoon. We're having a good year with five HOD guides this year, and ...

Re: Is there a "preparing for World Geography" type post?

I had been worried about prepping the Mapping the World through Art, but I never got any of it done. It has NOT been a big deal AT ALL for my freshman daughter to just copy things as she needs them. It has worked out just wonderfully for us without prepping a thing for that subject. I think about th...

Re: Question about the literature box in the WH guide

I'm glad to hear this. We're in World Geography right now and have found the readings for Pride and Prejudice, Papa's Wife, and Screwtape Letters to be unmanageably long. I am sharing the reading with my daughter b/c it takes her even longer to read it to herself than for me to read it out loud. It ...
