MtMM for 10th grade?

Hi ladies. I hope everyone is well. I haven't posted in a long time...just trying to finish out our school year and keep up some motivation, lol. 7th grader is enjoying Rev to Rev and I'm excited to move into MtMM next year! So here is my question as I ponder choices for my upcoming 10th grade son. ...

Re: Just received Rev 2 Rev

I went back and forth ordering Rev to Rev...bc money was so tight for us. I finally decided to just go for it and I am so glad I did! :D Can't wait to start.

Help! List of poems in RtR?

Hi everyone. I was hoping somebody would have a handy-dandy list of the poems studied in RtR. I just sold my guide and forgot to write them all down. I want to include them in our state portfolios. If anyone has such a list, please, please email it to me? ssgerdes at zoominternet dot net Thank you!

Re: Rev to Rev Science-Exploration Ed. ordering

Thanks Lourdes. I think I might just have to order from the publisher's website then. I won't need another CD...just another supplies kit which sells for $89 on the website (comes with materials to complete all projects and a logbook). My ds12 is the only one actually doing HOD Rev to Rev as written...

Re: Rev to Rev Science-Exploration Ed. ordering

I might be mistaken, but I believe that the Advanced kit only contains materials for ONE student to complete the projects. I am talking about the supplies necessary to make the different projects. My older 2 boys can certainly share and make the projects together but I would like extra supplies so t...

Rev to Rev Science-Exploration Ed. ordering

I have a quick question about ordering extra kits for the Exploration Education Physical Science. I will have 2 children using the Advanced and 2 using the Intermediate. I see that I can order extra logbooks through HOD but I will need an Intermediate supply kit as well. Will I have to order this th...

Re: Update: 1st day combing 3 dc in Beyond

Thanks for that clarification, Carrie! The pre-planning isn't really time-consuming. It was the daily teaching and stretching of my time that wasn't working. Does that make sense? I can spend an hour on a Sunday night finding additional materials and reading material for ds10 to go along with the Sc...

Update: 1st day combing 3 dc in Beyond

First, I wanted to thank everyone for the suggestions and advice re: my "epic fail" running multiple guides. I decided, after much prayer, that I just needed to do as Carrie suggested and put my ds10 in Beyond but have him continue doing math and LA at his own level. My biggest concern as Beyond not...

Re: Thinking I need to REthink....

I am sure that ladies more wise about placement issues than I will respond shortly. However, I will say that based on my experience with LHFHG, your son and daughter should do very well with it. My daughter was 5 (August bday as well!) and my son 7 when we started LHFHG. She, like your dd, wa...

Re: Running mult. guides = epic fail for us :(

Thank you everyone! I had some time today to really think about this. I looked over the books again in Beyond and noticed that they really are NOT too babyish for my 10yo. I decided that it would be best, for me, to do as Carrie suggested. I want to do ONE THING RIGHT instead of several things half-...

Re: Running mult. guides = epic fail for us :(

Wow, thanks so much Julie! I was hoping you might respond. :D That was so very helpful. My 12yo started the year off right and he did his work...every last bit. I started out diligently checking his work (and that of his 13yo bro). We were all on track. And then I slacked. And so did ds. I stopped c...

Re: Running mult. guides = epic fail for us :(

Carrie, I just noticed you posted again and I wanted to thank you for your words of wisdom. I have been praying a LOT about what you have suggested, what works for my family (and for me), where I want my dc to be in the coming years, etc. I would like to share that after I revamped our schedule...3 ...

Re: Using MFW but switching to HOD placement question

We came to HOD from MFW as well...after doing K and part of 1st. I am using Beyond with my dd6 and ds8 (almost 9). Dd6 is an advanced reader (for her age) while ds8 is a struggling reader. Beyond is a good fit for both of them. I think Beyond would be a good place to start with your girls!

Re: sigh.....

First, hugs to you. I will be praying for you and your dd. I KNOW how it can be. I'm the one that just posted about running 3 guides being an EPIC fail. I have lots of dawdlers in my house. My oldest RtR son...is a procrastinator. His 12yo brother...a box-checking, get the job done, work firs...
