We start each guide in the fall, full speed, and finish in May. (I'm also one of those people that needs Day 1 to be on Monday each week and Day 5 on Friday (or 4 on Thursday once we hit Preparing and above).
Same here!! :)

Re: Reason #5 to Use HOD - The Author!

I absolutely am so thankful for all of Carrie's family as well! Julie is just a special person. So kind and helpful and so wise in encouraging and advising all of us. I have loved my time talking with her at the convention. She is the real deal! :D And Mike is just great in so many ways. He offers ...

Re: Sneak Peek #11: New World Geography Guide

Thanks Carrie!! I saw the update on their site and we are really excited!! I LOVE that you will have it planned out each week, because we almost always seem to get everything done that YOU schedule (in the boxes), but on our own, we haven't been able to be as consistent with foreign language as we'd...

Re: Sneak Peek #11: New World Geography Guide

Carrie, we've had the same experience as you with the area of foreign language. I really hope the company gets their French curriculum ready before we start the geography guide. We have MTMM this coming school year, and geography for 2014-15. DD has a great interest in French, and our church has a s...

Re: my3sons... Julie... Did you ever make a post about

Julie--did you find that we needed to do any major printing or anything beforehand with MTMM, (like the Composer lapbook in Rev2Rev)? Just want to be prepared ahead of time--thanks!! :)

Re: Algebra

We had a similar experience to many here. We have jumped around a bit, too, in math, struggling to find the best fit, and now Algebra is going "ok". We did use LOF from Fractions, Decimals, Pre-Algebra with Biology, and started Algebra I--and even though our dd was doing well with all the assignment...

Re: OT: Foreign Language

I hope this is ok to post, but I found this article by Crosswalk really helpful in our choosing. It lists the benefits of various foreign language choices for high school, as well as the difficulty, etc. It's called "A Guide to Choosing the Right Foreign Language for You": http://www.crosswalk.com/f...

So awesome, Carrie! I LOVE how you just keep covering all the bases that I always hoped to cover but was never sure how to fit in to our schedule. You are truly a God-send to us (and to all the blessed HOD families)!!

Re: HOD and Me

We started with HOD in 8th grade, a couple years ago, and it really was very natural to use almost from the beginning. HOD is SO user-friendly, that just following the guide each day is almost "effortless". ;) There may be a little "learning curve" as you go, but I think starting HOD at any age is p...

Re: Sneak Peek #3: New World Geography Guide

Carrie, this is awesome!!!! You must've been reading my mind, because I was just thinking that I should include this book to read with (or have her read) the Stepping Heavenward book, because it is so good. :)
