Carrie, You answered everything I needed and raised some good points. I am also very much a supporter of the 3R's early on. I just wanted to make sure that science does become a more prominent part of the curriculum at an appropriate time in the future. I agree I do not remember much from those earl...

Re: science questions
Yes, it is actually "Our Father's World" She listed the K or 1st grade science books as options in LHFHG. I am not thrilled with it either. Maybe the one used in Beyond is more in depth, I hope.

Then I added the grammar and spelling from BLHFHG for my 6year old. Things are going great. We are using the G...

Melanie, No need to apologize, there was quite a long thread just a few days ago I think about someone leaving MFW for HOD. Reading that is what gave me "permission" let's say to not be IN LOVE with MFW. Up until then I thought I must be missing something since it just did not click with me when I l...

Melanie, I must have been confusing. I have never done MFW, nor do I have any of the supplies. Should I look into getting the book you mentioned ??? We are excited. My oldest is ready to do more stuff, we focused on reading and math only for 2 years. I am a little concerned with the one who will be ...

SO HAPPY WITH DECISION/ Thanks Carrie!
Well I got my stuff yesterday that I ordered and I got so excited looking at it all. I was also very happy to read all the good stuff regarding HOD to MFW. I left my conference thinking I should take a better look at MFW b/c so many people I know do it. However, every time I have looked at it it jus...

I am just now at point where I need to make some decisions, I am glad I had the past years as experience. It is just so enticing all the fun brigh...

I succeeded in having tunnel vison all morning. I was not distracted or feeling guilty for not stopping a...

one last reassurance of level please
Ok, I hope this will be the last major question regarding this decision. My hubby and I talked in length last night about the thoughts I had for next year. The Plan: Have 6.5 yo (who is reading pretty well, writing and doing horizons K math now ) and 5yo (in august , also beginning to read, writes l...

LHFHG bible
Hi, sorry another question. For LHFHG there are 2 bible options listed, but I see in the weekly plans they have the references for Family Time Bible. Are there references for "101 favorite stories from the Bible" In the appendix and somewhere else. I am also trying to decide between these 2 bibles, ...
